Fried Chicken is a family favourite but many people don't eat it often because deep frying is so unhealthy. Now you can cook fried chicken without the guilt. Most people that have cooked southern fried chicken in an air fryer agree it even tastes better than deep fried chicken. Just imagine, succulent tender chicken in a chrispy coating. Mmmm. Your favourite fried chicken recipe can now taste better and be healthy at the same time.
TEMP200 ° C OR 390 ° F
- 400 g Chicken Strips
- 1 bowl Barbeque Sauce optional
- 1 bowl Sweet Chili Sauce optional
- Preheat the air fryer to 200 ° C or 390 ° F which usually takes around 3 minutes.
- Place the frozen chicken strips into the air fryer basket.
- Cook for 12 minutes ensuring you shake the basket often to ensure the chicken strips are cooked evenly.
This recipe is based on the pre-seasoned frozen chicken strips you buy at the supermarket however, if you are making them yourself, the cooking time would probably not need to be altered too much. From defrosted, I'd recommend cooking for around 8-9 minutes. I'd also recommend Kentucky Kernel Seasoned Flour as I hear it's yummy.
- Cook from frozen
- No oil necessary
- Shake often
Have been making these in the oven for a couple of years, made them last night in the air fryer and my husband actually said these were the best chicken strips we have ever had. I can’t believe the difference in cooking methods made so much difference….
What are you using for the breading on these? What ingredients are being used?
